This tool is intended to help CSIO members troubleshoot EDI issues.

EDI Assist provides the following capabilities:

• Supports AL3 and AL3 compressed file formats.
• Provides a hierarchy and full message views.
• Provides message validation for the following:
  • Check for presence of mandatory elements
  • DataType validation for "A", "AN", "N", "SN", and "T"
• ClassType validations:
  • "CD" i.e. validate that a given value exists in a specific code list
  • Validation of different date formats: "DT8", "DT6", "DT4", "DT2", "DTCY" etc...
  • Validation of time format - "TI"
  • Yes/No indicators validation
  • Validation of some special case composite classes, like "CDYR", that have unique validation rules
